MathXL for School can be personalized for each student depending on his/her math competency. This program creates tutorials and extra assignments that are catered to areas most difficult for the students and it is something that I use every day in my classroom. MathXL for School is also an excellent introduction to the online homework systems commonly used in universities across the country. Students who use MathXL for School will be more confident.

I have been using MathXL and MathXL for School since I discovered it in my Pearson Algebra 2 teacher materials over 8 years ago. It has completely changed the way I begin class. No more do I say: “Take out your homework” and let that exercise define my class. Now, I know how the homework went before class and can design the lesson accordingly. I teach a wide variety of classes from the Honors level (Pre-Calc/Honors Algebra 2) to the more mathematically challenged. These products have become very useful for me in differentiating instruction among low math achievers. They have allowed me to completely individualize my instruction by finding each student’s baseline and giving them the chance to grow from there. In one class of 13 students who had all failed their last math class, I am currently using 6 different texts aligned to the needs of the student. Kids love the approach and they are doing as well as they ever have in a math class. Most are juniors and many will go to Algebra 2. Over the past 4 years, more than 80% of those who chose to go on have been successful in completing Algebra 2.
I assign homework, quizzes, enrichment and remediation through the Study Plan. I use the sample tests and post-tests to diagnose and to assess. The “help” tools offered the student are exceptional and give the student who has had to miss class an opportunity to come back to school “caught up”. I am still discovering ways to access valuable information and teaching strategies through MathXL for School. It has made me a better, more informed teacher. Through MathXL for School, I was “flipping” the classroom long before it became the fad that it is now. The only difference is that the videos are better quality than any I could do on my own.
Once you can see what this product does for your students and for you--as their teacher--you’ll wonder how you did your job without it. This product answers all of DuFour’s questions:
1. What are you going to teach?
2. How are you going to teach it?
3. What will you do if the students don’t get it?
4. What do you do if they already know it?

I have been using MathXL in my algebra classes for three years. We are a one-to-one laptop school. The use of MathXL has totally transformed the learning environment in my classroom. Students are more engaged in class and actually eager to complete math assignments. Students love the immediate feedback and support offered within the program.
Introduction of the program into the classroom has enabled me to better manage classroom instruction time. Lecture time has been minimized, and I am able to provide individual instruction to students. I have been able to cover more content, and I have time to incorporate activities that promote critical thinking and problem solving.

I use MathXL for all homework, some quizzes and test preparation. I also use the Study plan for struggling students. The immediate feedback students receive is very helpful in keeping students engaged and prevents them from becoming discouraged. Since we are on a year-long block, MathXL for School allows me to teach 2 different classes in one period.
I currently use MathXL for School with my AP Calculus class. I assign homework through the site as well as have students complete the exams through MathXL as well.
I teach the AP Calc classes in such a way that I don't have time to go over homework in our regular class time. I like to use the 42 minutes a day to lecture and to provide sample AP questions. The way that MathXL for School checks homework is ideal for my students who have busy schedules and may not always get to spend time with the answer book before or after school. (I finish the curriculum 3 weeks before the test in May so that I can review non-stop before the AP test. My average for both AB and BC is (thankfully) quite high). I appreciate having a great homework program to help my kids get ready for each chapter test.
